SPC Wildrick enlisted in the US Army on June 18, 2008 as an infantryman. Ronald leaves behind two young daughters.
SPC Wildrick was a hero, said childhood friend Nicole De Rosa who graduated with SPC Wildrick in 2000 from Lenape Valley Regional HS in Stanhope, NJ.
Though separated from Ronald, his wife Stephanie Kasper, wrote on a memorial page, expressing her thoughts about SPC Wildrick and their 2 daughters. “Ron gave me two of the most precious gifts in this world … our daughters! I will forever be thankful for that. He didn’t deserve this and it breaks my heart that his daughters won’t get to really know their father, but I will make sure they know he is a hero for what he did and will always know how much he loved them!”
Prior to deployment to Afghanistan, SPC Wildrick served with the US Army’s honor guard in Washington, D.C., which included duty at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and Arlington National Cemetery.
MAJ Dave Eastburn, spokesman for the 3rd Brigade Combat Team to which SPC Wildrick was assigned, said Wildrick was “Just a good guy, family guy, couple of kids. Loved New Jersey.”
“It’s a huge deal when we lose a member of our team,” MAJ Eastburn explained. “Of course, any time we lose a member of our team our thoughts are back there with the family and friends of him because we know that this is the toughest time that they’ll ever see.”
SPC Wildrick lived life to its fullest, touching many lives in his love for interacting with people.
