CPL Clouse was captain and most valuable player of the Sprague High School basketball team his senior year. He enlisted in the Army just after graduation in 2010. Justin was serving his second tour in Afghanistan.

Orville Clouse, Justin’s grandfather, explained that his grandson was an “awesome man” who loved fishing and hunting. He was planning to leave the military next spring and get married.

“He was outgoing, and yet quiet,” Orville Clouse added. “He was always a hard-working and ambitious kid.”

The town of Sprague, population 550, gave his parents a solemn sendoff when they left to collect their son’s remains from Dover Air Force Base, and bring him home to his resting place.
