SGT Demand lived in Pomeroy, Washington, where he attended school through the second grade. His mother Char married Mr. Baldwin and the family moved to Palouse, Washington.
Jake completed his schooling at Palouse and graduated from high school in 1995. During his high school years, Jake participated in the football, basketball, and baseball programs. He was noted for his positive attitude. His hobbies included fishing and hunting. Jake had a joyful spirit and was well known and appreciated by all who knew him.
Following his graduation, Jake enlisted in the United States Army. Jake completed his basic training at Fort Benning, GA, and was later stationed at Fort Campbell, KY. He served tours of duty in Saudi Arabia and Korea.
SGT Demand deployed to Iraq in January 2004.
SGT Demand is remembered by family, friends, soldiers and especially by his 3 children, a daughter, and 2 sons, and his mother Char Baldwin.
