CDR Steven Bruce “Boots” Barnes, United States Navy (Retired), age 64, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019. Funeral service and inurnment with full military honors will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
Born in Memphis Tennessee and raised in St. Louis, MO, he retired as a contractor with the Defense Department after a distinguished Naval career. He was a combat pilot in Operation Desert Storm where he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross with Combat Valor and was a proud Eagle Scout.
“Boots” is survived by his wife, Jane Mary Quirk; daughter, Cheryl Quirk Barnes; son, Michael Conrad Barnes, USAF and a sister, Sharon Barnes Koch.
